Our Pastor Pastor Jim cuts the ribbon at our Grand Opening and no one is hurt.   Jim is a native Houstonian who received his B.A. from the University of Houston, and his Masters and Doctorate degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Jim has been married to Anne since 1976. Anne is an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and recently received the Dr. PH from UT.  They are the parents of two children, Andrew a recent graduate of the University of Houston and Abbey, a freshman at Texas State.    Jim just completed a his three year term on the Board of Directors of the Pearland Area Chamber of Commerce.   He is active in the Pearland Ministerial Alliance and was recently elected Vice President.  He also has served as a Spiritual Advisor to the Houston Cursillo Council, and as a Spiritual Advisor for several Walk To Emmaus and Cursillo and Kairos weekends in the Houston area as well as in the Dallas area and in Oklahoma.  He has served on the Board of CanCare, a local ministry to cancer survivors and their families.  He has served on the Board of the Synod of the Sun's Men's Conference at Mo Ranch, and nationally, Jim served as a Spiritual Advisor to the National Organization of Presbyterian Men.  In addition to his calling as a pastor, for fun Jim loves to write and perform his own songs around town, either solo or with his band, "The Altar'd Egos."  In the late 70's, before he began working as a pastor in a local church, Jim released two albums with Star Song Records.  While those albums are long out of production,  Jim has produced six CD's of recent live performaces.  Jim was ordained in 1978 as the Director of United Christian Fellowship at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.   From 1981 to 1991 he served as an Associate Pastor at St. Andrew's Presbyterian in Houston, Texas.  From 1991 till 1994 he served as the pastor of St. Andrew Presbyterian in San Antonio, Texas.   In 1994, im returned to Houston to pastor John Knox  Presbyterian until  he accepted the call to beome the organizing pastor of this church called Peace.

Our Staff In addition to our pastor we have a wonderful dedicated group of folks working for the kingdom at Peace.  Office Manager:  Holly Miscovich serves as our Office Manager.    Minister of Music:  Greg Tucker does a wonderful job leading our music program at Peace.  His full time job is the Information Technology guru at Congregation Beth Israel.  For us, he plays keyboard and directs the bands at both the 9am Blended service and the 11:15am Praise Service. Child Care Workers: Every Sunday from 9-noon we have Ms. Yanti and Ms. Marilyn who love working with our children in our nursery. Children are welcome to participate in worship, but should the need arise, we provide a nursery.  In addtion to our paid staff, we have a number of dedicated volunteers. Peace Officers: "these are our precious volunteers who log hours of service in the Peace office. They are Jane Ann Townsley, Mary Gaffney, Nita Roy, John and Janet Weaver, Sue Higbie, Bonnie Williams. Peace Players:  Joanne Jeffers is Director of our Drama ministry.  Marcia Winkler and Kathy Crow help out as well. PeaceKids Choir:  Kathy Crow directs our children's choir. Peace Accountant:  Sue Higbie and Blake Murrhee work to keep our books up to date. Peace Treasurer: John Schweers keeps us in the black. Peace Video Team: Alex Evans and David Wilson are our lead video captains. Ron Phipps, Dev Mathura, Randy Croix and Holly Alegria pitch in as well. Peace Audio Team: Jimmy Alegria, Dennis Bradley and Cheryl Miller run our soundboard. Peace Prayer Net:  Cheryl Miller coordinates our email PrayerNet.  Peace Meal Ministry:  Penny McKim coordinates our food ministry.
