Well, here's the last installment of the letters to and from God by Lily Newsom. Enjoy!

Dear God,
Sorry for the way I acted. I really liked the photo of Artie Smartie you sent to me. I got it enlarged and now keep it by my bed in a picture frame. I'm glad that he liked the name I gave him. It's Halloween tonight and I'm going as a black and white Chihuahua. You gave me the idea. Plus, mom said that if I saved up, I could get another dog! Isn't that amazing!

Dear Sarah,
I'm glad that you get another dog. Maybe, if you saved up enough money, I could suggest to your mom to let you have a cat, mouse, guinea pig, or a hamster. I'm glad you liked the photo. I have a secret to tell you. Your mom doesn't know yet, but you are going to have a little brother! I already know what he's going to look like. You'll love him. I promise.
Love, God
So our conversation between Sarah and God has come to and end. Hopefully it still continues for this little girl! It seems that Sarah found some good ways to cope with the loss of her little dog. And God has some great plans ahead for Sarah and her family. I think the message I see here is that God has a plan, no matter how we might feel. God has a plan that is for the best, even if we can't yet understand how it is for the best. God's desire is to bless the whole earth and all of humanity, but it's not a simple plan. It is complicated and we can never fully know the whole thing, at least not until we join Sarah's little friend, Artie Smartie!
Imagine what that will be like, the day you stand in God's presence, and God reveals to you the fullness of God's plan. It will truly be unbelievable. In the meantime, it's our job to live faithfully, love the way Christ did, and trust God's plan will eventually be the best for us, even if we don't understand it in our moments of pain or confusion.
So keep looking for God and keep telling the stories! I'd love to have so many God sightings each week that I can't get them all onto this blog! God bless you!
